Delta IV Heavy Blasts Off From Canaveral Air Station With Largest Satellite Every Launched To Orbit
A Delta IV Heavy Rocket. America's largest launch vehicle. Launched a classified spy satellite only known as payload NROL-32. According to the reports from the National Security Agency the satellite is the largest ever launched. With a span of 100 meters (328 feet).
The launch of the Delta IV Heavy is the 3rd launch of the largest rocket booster configuration in the world today. The launch is most impressive due to the fact that it is an entirely liquid fueled rocket. (Hydrogen and Oxygen) The pre-burnoff of the hydrogen from the nozzles at ignition has the rocket engulfed in a giant fire ball as it leaves pad 37B. November 21, 2010 5:58 p.m. EST.
